Little headcanons!
We all have headcanons, of course, and I am super interested in hearing them. But for this topic, I am specifically super interested in hearing all the little details. Like, do you think Harold prefers cherry jam to grape? What's Reese's favorite type of candy?* Is Carter the best at Sudoku? Stuff like that!
(*I feel like even if it isn't peanut butter cups, he'd pretend like it was just to see what Harold would do/say. And for my part I really hope Harold would just calmly tell him to go away for a bit while he processed the fact that he actually likes such a ridiculous human being.)

I fully believe that Harold was fannish at some point in his childhood, probably into zines and the like. Maybe Star Trek fandom. Ooh, or Holmes! He could totally be a Holmes fan.
I can see John just really enjoying kissing/making out. I mean, thinking sex is excellent too, but I see there being something about just kind of gently touching/kissing that would really, really appeal to him and it being something he could just enjoy for a very long time.

But yes, and ow.
Finch seems content to be Uncle Harold most of the time - the fact that the Machine is sort-of turning into his sentient daughter is clearly freaking him out just a little.

Yeah, or, what other employees in Finch's life must have odd experiences. House maids and cleaners for his various safe houses? The car service employees? I bet there's a whole army of working class people who've had to sign Finch's NDAs and have the WEIRDEST lives (and also the biggest paychecks).

No, I've wondered this too. But he was careful not to call himself "Mr. Finch" within earshot of them, so presumably they belong to one of his established billionaire identities, maybe one that he doesn't use on any of the number cases (Harold Flamingo) and he still trots them out on occasion and pays them huge salaries and they've seen John striding around with him now and then and are immensely jealous because he was Their Boss Dammit.

Little known fact, there's a hacker con that takes place in NYC every two years, since the late 90s; headcanon is that Finch has been to at least one

Harold: He writes historical romance novels under the pseudonym Harriet Dove.
Joss: She moonlights as a dominatrix.
Lionel: He goes clubbing on his off days, and is renowned for his dance moves.
Sam: Clearly, she's an Elvis tribute artist.
Root: Ironically, she maintains a vast collection of Care Bears.
Leon: Around the house, he wears makeup and a pink wig.
Zoe: She's a vampire, and part of an ancient secret society.
What? No! I'm not weird! You're weird! Meep.

In the rest of my headcanon, that's what he and Nathan did occasionally in their free time, when they were off exams or Finch wasn't tinkering with code and Nathan wasn't otherwise occupied by his probably near-constant dating life: drive. Just, aimless, around Boston, because they could, not really talking because there's something about the low rumble-roar of the engine that fills up the silence that way, and maybe Finch indulges Nathan when he puts weird music on the radio, or maybe Nathan indulges Finch when he sets it on a baseball game, which Nathan thinks is the most boring game ever. *smacks head*

because they were too busy making out in the backseat. And then he locks them all away in a little box and never actually allows himself the indulgence of looking inside, other than to put more stuff in there; but he likes knowing that all those fragments of his and Finch's relationship are there, proof, safe under the bed or the top shelf of the bookshelf.(Oh, hell. Is there any way to make the plot bunnies stop plotting?)
